Overview

The following summarizes upcoming changes to inclusion of capabilities within ProxySG, and the sale, via Blue Coat price lists, of 3rd party URL filtering products:

Notice of Status Change:
Proprietary integration mechanisms used by Websense Web Filter will no longer be supported within ProxySG, beginning with SGOS 6.3. Use within previous versions of ProxySG continues to be supported through the life of those versions.

End of Sale:
Sale of 3rd party URL filtering products via Blue Coat price lists will be discontinued as of November 1, 2011. At that time, only Blue Coat WebFilter will be sold by Blue Coat. Use of other web filtering products, except those noted above, can still be purchased and used via the original vendor or their resellers

Beginning with the next feature release of ProxySG, the proprietary integration mechanisms needed to support use of Websense Web Filter will no longer be included.  This includes both on-box and off-box support.  Customers of Websense Web Filter are encouraged to migrate to Blue Coat WebFilter or another supported web filtering product.

End of Sale Date (EOS)

Beginning November 1, 2011, only Blue Coat WebFilter will be sold by Blue Coat. Customers of other supported web filtering solutions should either switch to Blue Coat WebFilter, or contact the original vendor or their reseller for continued purchases.

Customer Actions

Customers using Blue Coat WebFilter do not need to take any action.

Customers using Websense Web Filter are encouraged to migrate to Blue Coat Web Filter or a supported 3rd party URL filtering solution in advance of upgrading to upcoming newer versions.

Customers using other 3rd party URL filtering solutions are encouraged to contact their vendor or reseller for available purchasing vehicles, or migrate to Blue Coat WebFilter.
