FTP log source stuck in "Processing" status indefinitely in Reporter 9.2.5.1 or 9.3.2.1

Solution

Overview

Using FTP log sources in Reporter versions 9.2.5.1 and 9.3.2.1 might result in the following behavior:

  • High CPU utilization for prolonged periods of time.
  • Log source stuck in "Processing" status indefinitely.
  • Reports are not updated with the latest access log data.
  • A packet capture created on the Reporter server shows many repeated FTP connections that terminate after repeated TCP ZeroWindow packets.

 

Cause
Resolution

This is a bug in Reporter's FTP log source that was addressed and fixed in Reporter version 9.3.3.1.

Upgrade to 9.3.3.1 GA over your current Reporter installation to resolve the FTP log source bug.

If you are still having problems with the FTP log sources after installing the patch, open a service request with Blue Coat Customer Support for further investigation.
