How do I display a summary of Idle flows through my PacketShaper?

Overview

When troubleshooting performance issues it is often useful to identify how long flows have been idle.

At the command line, enter the following to give a summary of idle TCP and UDP flows;

traffic flow -tuo

You can tune idle TCP timeouts with the following command, the default is 0, as there is no timeout.

sys set tcpIdleTimeoutmins <numeric>

You can tune idle UDP timeouts with the following command, the default of 60 minutes is recommended.

sys set ipdgIdleTimeoutMins <numeric>

For non-tcp/udp flows, the following command is available, the default of 60 minutes is recommended.

sys set legacyIdleTimeoutMins <numeric>
