How do I write a proxy PAC file or an accelerated proxy PAC file?

You can modify the default PAC file or create your own 'accelerated-pac.'

The default PAC and accelerated-pac files can be found at the following URLs:

    Default PAC file: http://x.x.x.x:8080/proxy_pac_file
    Accelerated-pac file: http://x.x.x.x:8080/accelerated_pac_base.pac

To modify one of these files, open the file in Notepad and make your modifications. While the configuration and writing of PAC file script is outside the scope of the Blue Coat Support team, there are a lot of useful websites that can assist you in writing a PAC file. Here are a few examples:

Tools also exist which help to check the correct syntax of a PAC file and can be used to see which proxy will be used when accessing a test URL:

    To install the PAC file:

Enter the following commands via the command line:

    #(config)inline accelerated-pac eof123

(paste the content of the PAC file)

Please note that eof123 is simply a marker for the end of file; it can be any string you choose.
