Solution

Overview

Looking at the Reporter startup files, we see a message that complains there is no ADMIN account configured.

The Reporter service fails to start.

Cause
Resolution

While troubleshooting this call, we noticed this error in the startup files.

The  three reporter startup files are:

bcreporter.out ---------- Shows general information for the startup and running of the

bctasklist.out ---------- Shows tasks to be completed- is often empty.

bcrservice.out --------- Shows the startup of the Services.

Error in the  bcreporter.out file:

NOTE: This is NOT referring to  the local admin account on Windows, or the root user on LINUX, but rather the admin account in Reporter.

Root cause:
The admin account- essential for all reporter installations- was missing.

FIX:  Delete the isready.txt file and run the bcrstartup ( exe) again by typing "bcrstartup --prompt".  This will re-create the local_users.cfg file, and install a admin account in it.

Tip:  You can either have the license ready to install with this startup, or install it later in the UI, in the adminstration section.

Workaround:   Copy the local_users.cfg file back to the installation.

More detailed information on reseting your admin password, for both Linux and Windows operating systems,  can be found here:
