Solution

Overview

The <NULL> entries indicate that the client IP addresses have logged out from Novell eDirectory.  The first <NULL> entry represents the username and the second <NULL> entry represents the IP address of the Novell eDirectory server where the login information was obtained.  Here is an example of the SSO file with nulls in it:

2010/05/10 01:33:26.254 0x0 2010/05/10 01:33:26.254 10.10.10.1 <NULL> <NULL>
2010/05/10 01:33:28.691 0x0 2010/05/10 01:33:28.691 10.10.10.2 <NULL> <NULL>
2010/05/10 01:33:38.785 0x0 2010/05/10 01:33:38.785 10.10.10.3 <NULL> <NULL>
2010/05/10 01:33:54.972 0x0 2010/05/10 01:33:54.972 10.10.10.4 <NULL> <NULL>
2010/05/10 01:34:28.050 0x0 2010/05/10 01:34:28.050 10.10.10.5 <NULL> <NULL>

The following is an example of the debug log generated when there is a user logged in to the eDirectory server :

2010/05/10 01:35:28.050 0x0 2010/05/10 01:35:28.050 10.10.10.6 cn=thisUser,ou=thisOU,o=thisOrg 10.10.10.10
